Directed by Jan Vikas, the team left on the 30th Feb from Ahmedabad to Radhanpur, where their contact forwarded them onto Rapar and the Neelpar Ashram near Rapar. They opened field clinics wherever they stopped. They slept in their tents and sleeping bags allowing the team to move and stay ad lib in spite of the hostile environment. At each location the team leader and his scouts would survey the interior areas to decide if setting up camps and whether they would be effective and useful in those areas. Only when it was obvious that these areas were cared for adequately they moved to Bachau where they made contact with the Army Field Hospital and were invited to assist the army-navy medical teams operating there.

They assisted in surgical and orthopedic procedures under anesthesia in the field Operation Theatre and assisted in the delivery of twins born by caesarian. Unfortunately it was not our Pediatrician who resuscitated the newborn twins but our Orthopedic surgeon!
